MRC high-angle drift steering for M-06

Tamiya M-06

Give the M-06 more steering angle for rear-drive drifting while keeping its rear motor and drivetrain. The front assembly needs careful clearance checks, and its printed suspension arms need care around their screw holes.

Installation notes

  • The M-06 is already rear-wheel drive. MRCM06FS is a front steering/suspension conversion, not a new rear-drive or motor-layout conversion.
  • One full pack supplies the front arms, B-type knuckles, upper/wiper mounts, wipers, eight bearings and associated rods/hardware. Retain the stock front axles BB20, D3 hubs, DC10 pins, DC9 nuts, BB8/BA14 suspension pins, B2 cover, required screws and two shocks; rear changes are not required.
  • The instructions raise the front cover on four supplied 3 mm collars, reuse the stock suspension pins and recommend 5-7 mm loaded ride height. Low ride height can require shaving both knuckles equally for tie-rod clearance; washers address tire rubbing when using the stock hubs.
  • With stock 5 mm hubs the maker baseline is front 8 mm wheel offset and rear 0 mm. Other wheels must clear the actual body. A rear universal-shaft conversion is not a prerequisite in these instructions.
  • A stock servo horn is usable but places the rod at an angle and limits travel; the maker recommends a longer compatible horn. Printed upper/lower arms are vulnerable to splitting if screws are forced sideways or overtightened.
  • Use a separate drift gyro, a compatible servo/radio/ESC/motor system, and drift wheels/tires suited to the surface. These electronics and tires are not supplied by the conversion pack. Match any replacement servo horn to the servo spline.
  • Adjust gyro gain to avoid steering oscillation, set servo end points after assembly, and check tires, body and linkage through the full suspension and steering range. Maker setup dimensions are starting points for its P-tile surface, not guaranteed settings for every surface.
