Redcat lists this low-range option for the brushed Ascent-18. Motor-mount shims may be needed to keep the shaft clear of the internal gears.
Installation notes
- The set includes 38T/16T drive, 39T/16T idler, 39T output, a plastic 11T pinion and an output-shaft spacer. The plastic pinion distinguishes this package from the Hot Racing brass-pinion set.
- Redcat says stock brushed motors and some brushless motors may need mounting shims to prevent shaft contact with the internal gears. Confirm clearance before powering the truck.
- The complete gearbox reduction is about 20.5249:1 with the supplied 11T pinion, versus about 13.0280:1 for the original 12T plastic configuration. Theoretical wheel speed falls about 36.53% at unchanged motor RPM.
- The three factory-brushless Ascent-18 versions already use low-range gearing. Do not describe this set as new stock functionality for those editions.
