Background
The XXX-CR developed Losi's established 1/10 rear-wheel-drive buggy into a competition kit with revised suspension and steering geometry. Its EA3 composite chassis and suspension parts were paired with threaded aluminum shocks and titanium-nitride hinge pins and shock shafts. Variable-length suspension arms gave the driver another way to adjust the car for different grip levels. Factory product archive (opens in a new tab)

Its sealed three-gear transmission combines an adjustable ball differential and slipper. The kit uses a 78T, 48P spur and a 2.43:1 transmission reduction, while the motor and pinion are chosen for the class and track. The factory manual explains gearing changes alongside spring, piston and geometry adjustments rather than prescribing one power system. XXX-CR assembly and setup manual (opens in a new tab)
LOSA0032 is a kit requiring the radio and power equipment. Its service list includes both replacement and tuning parts, including a different upper gear/shaft ratio, so the installed gearbox matters when calculating gearing on a used car. Keep the exact XXX-CR instructions beside the chassis when inspecting a restoration or preparing a vintage-race setup. Factory parts reference (opens in a new tab)

How to read these figures
- Stock is as the vehicle ships.
- Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
- Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit.
- Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.

Build and setup
Factory setup guide for this configuration.
Keep the XXX-CR's ball differential smooth and correctly adjusted before setting the slipper. The differential is not intended to slip under power; if tightening it produces stiffness before the slip is gone, inspect the assembly rather than forcing the screw tighter. The slipper is the separate adjustment that cushions drivetrain load. Change gearing one step at a time to suit the straight and infield instead of carrying over a pinion choice from another motor.[1] XXX-CR factory setup and maintenance instructions (opens in a new tab)
Try battery position before buying a different chassis or adding weight. The kit starts with the battery forward, while moving it back can add rear traction on a slippery surface. Too much rearward weight can make the back swing through turns, so compare the intermediate position using the supplied foam spacer. Set the ride height evenly with the shock collars, but change the spring itself when a different spring stiffness is needed.[1] XXX-CR factory setup and maintenance instructions (opens in a new tab)

The variable-length arms need supporting setup changes. The factory guide pairs the long front-arm position with the blue front spring and 32.5wt oil, and the long rear position with the red rear spring and 32.5wt oil. Treat each as a complete setup choice rather than moving the hinge pins alone. Keep the original short-arm baseline available so the change can be reversed if it makes the car less consistent on your track.[1] XXX-CR factory setup and maintenance instructions (opens in a new tab)
