Losi LST 3XL-E

1/8 scale · monster truck · LOS04015

Specs

The LST 3XL-E is Losi's 1/8 four-wheel-drive monster truck, sold ready to run with a Dynamite Fuze 2200Kv brushless motor and a 150A waterproof speed control.

A 54T spur and 8.27:1 inside the transmission sit behind a pinion that Losi's page and manual disagree on, so the final drive is left blank. The speed control takes 3-6s packs and the truck runs two in series, on tires of 177.8 mm. It is 584 mm long on a 404 mm wheelbase, so confirm which pinion is fitted before you work out your gearing.

How to read these figures
  • Stock is as the vehicle ships.
  • Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
  • Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.

About teeth, pitch and bore
  • Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above.
  • Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close.
  • Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft.

How these numbers were settled

Losi's page prints a 54T spur, an 8.27:1 transmission, a 20T pinion and a 22.30:1 final drive, and those four agree with each other.

  • The manual's parts list and Horizon's part pages instead treat the 22T pinion (LOS242004) as the standard one and the 20T (LOS242008) as optional, which would make the final drive 20.30:1.
  • The two readings cannot both be right, so the pinion and final drive are left blank.
  • The tire is the 7.0 in (177.8 mm) outer diameter in Losi's spec table.
  • The 150A speed control takes 3S to 6S, which sets the cell count at 6, and the truck runs two packs in series.
  • Losi's 50+ mph claim is footnoted as needing optional gearing, so it is not used.
