TLR says its mission is "to provide the best performing and most innovative RC Buggies and RC Truggies for the competitive RC racing community."2 It tells its story in two words, "Determination and domination," and credits its results to designers and engineers who "eat, sleep, and breathe RC racing."8

In 2023 Tater Sontag won the IFMAR 1/10 2WD World Championship with a 22 5.0 DC Elite, a title TLR had chased for 20 years.6,7,9 Its 22X-4 won the ROAR Nationals, and Losi builds ready-to-run race buggies and truggies on the ROAR National Champion 8IGHT-X and 8IGHT-XT platforms.10,11,12

Product portfolio

Every TLR model is a race kit that you build and fit with your own motor or engine and electronics. At 1/10 scale the 22 family covers 2WD buggies, from the 22 4.0 SR spec racer to the 22 5.0 in Astro/Carpet and Dirt/Clay versions, plus the 22X-4 Elite 4WD buggy, the 22SCT 3.0 short course truck and the 22T 4.0 stadium truck. At 1/8 scale the 8IGHT-X 2.0 buggy and 8IGHT-XT truggy come as nitro kits, with electric 8IGHT-XE 2.0 and 8IGHT-XTE versions of each.

Racing record

Tater Sontag won the 2023 IFMAR 1/10 electric off-road 2WD World Championship with a 22 5.0 DC Elite.6,7 At ROAR level, Ryan Maifield won the 2016 Nationals with the 22-4 2.0, with teammate Dakotah Phend second, and the 22X-4, 8IGHT-X and 8IGHT-XT have each won ROAR national titles.5,10,11,12
