Bind the original TQ with ECM-2.5 radio system
Traxxas TRX-4M Defender, 97054-1, original TQ transmitter and ECM-2.5 combined control module. This binding sequence is separate from drive-profile selection.
Before starting
- Use new or freshly charged batteries for the radio system.Source, PDF p. 15 (opens in a new tab)
- Keep the transmitter and ECM within 5 feet of each other.Source, PDF p. 16 (opens in a new tab)
- During the sequence, the transmitter must be on before the vehicle battery is connected. The battery must be connected to the ECM within 20 seconds of switching on the transmitter.Source, PDF p. 15 (opens in a new tab)
Steps
- Press and hold SET on the transmitter.Source, PDF p. 16 (opens in a new tab)
- Switch on the transmitter, then release SET. The transmitter status LED flashes red slowly in bind mode.Source, PDF p. 16 (opens in a new tab)
- Hold EZ-Set on the ECM while plugging in the battery. Release EZ-Set when the ECM status LED flashes red.Source, PDF p. 16 (opens in a new tab)
- The ECM status LED flashes red slowly to indicate bind mode.Source, PDF p. 16 (opens in a new tab)

Final checks
