Traxxas VXL-6s: calibration

Traxxas Maxx Slash 6S, model 102076-4, with the original controller and radio configuration covered by this manual edition.

Before starting

• Confirm that the fitted controller is the VXL-6s. Calibration sets throttle endpoints; it is separate from choosing a driving mode.
• This ESC is factory-calibrated. The manual calls for recalibration when its LED flashes green; start with the throttle at neutral. Use LiPo batteries, not NiMH.

Calibration sequence

1. With the ESC off, connect two fully charged LiPo batteries to the VXL-6s.
2. Switch on the transmitter and leave the throttle trigger at neutral.
3. Hold EZ-Set until the LED changes from green to red, then release the button.
4. At the single red flash, pull the trigger fully back to full forward throttle and keep it there.
5. At the two red flashes, push the trigger fully forward to full reverse and keep it there.
6. One green flash confirms completion. The ESC then shows a steady green LED.

Final checks

• Return the trigger to neutral. Check the battery mode before driving; never use LiPo with Low-Voltage Detection disabled.
