Original G2 gear differential option

Team Losi Racing 22 5.0 DC Elite · TLR03022

A gear differential changes differential tuning from ball-diff preload to silicone-fluid selection. The original G2 assembly is a factory-listed DC Elite option. Keep a smooth ball differential when its adjustment suits the track; the change does not establish a lap-time or durability gain.

Upgrade notes

  • Requires TLR77000: High-pressure black grease.
  • Specified for illustrated outdrive surfaces. Silicone differential oil is separately required, with the sheet wording 5000wt retained.

The exact factory option and original G2 assembly sheet support this configuration. It is separate from the metal-gear successor; no measured performance result is established.

Installation notes

  • For TLR03022 only, using the original TLR232088. TLR232101 is a distinct metal-gear successor and is listed as discontinued in the cited capture; no automatic substitution or cross-generation fit is claimed.
  • Factory sheet 60189, created 11/2018, identifies TLR232089 housing/cap, TLR232090 gears, TLR232091 seals/hardware and TLR232092 outdrives. Use the complete package rather than combining unidentified G2 revisions.
  • Grease the illustrated outdrive sealing/wear surfaces using TLR77000, install pins, washers and planetary gears in the supplied diagram order, and fill with silicone oil just above the planetary gear. The original sheet calls 5000wt. This is its stated baseline, not a DC Elite universal track setting or a cSt conversion.
  • Seat the gasket and close with the four supplied M2.5x 8 mm flat-head screws, tightening in the printed numbered 1-through 4 sequence across opposite positions. Check smooth action and leakage before fitting the differential.
  • Retain the correct external bearings, idler, gearbox, driveshafts and slipper hardware from the exact vehicle assembly. Inspect bearing seating, outdrive engagement and free gearbox movement after assembly. Damaged external bearings are service items.
  • A different 22 5.0 AC kit manual specifies 7000wt for its factory assembly. Do not silently replace the original TLR232088 sheet 5000wt instruction with that track/build baseline. Supply suitable silicone differential oil separately; no numbered fluid or unit-equivalence claim is invented.
