Installation notes
- Use one complete 22031 set and one separately purchased 53965 pinion pair. Fit either included 18T or 19T only after checking the selected motor and required gearing. The kit permits 48-pitch pinions from 16T to 30T; the original module-0.6 pinion cannot be retained.
- 22031 supplies 79T spur, 20T counter gear, slipper shaft, two pressure plates, two friction pads, spring, O-ring, two flanged tubes, shaft pin and thin locknut. The 20T counter gear is not a motor pinion.
- Retain the kit 1050 bearing MA13, 840 bearing MA15 and K14 spacer shown shaded. Attach kit dust cap K16 with synthetic rubber cement after adjustment. The baseline spring dimension is 3.5 mm; loosen from that reference for more slip.
- The maker excludes motors with short shafts, including 540SH, Sports-Tuned 53068, RS-540SH 53689 and Torque-Tuned 54358. An existing compatible longer-shaft 540 motor can be retained; motor/ESC/battery selection remains its own validated installation.
- Continuous running with a loose clutch can overheat and damage the spur. This changes a functional drive assembly and is not a new stock feature or proof of a higher battery-voltage rating.
