Installation notes

  • Buy one complete MIP 16210 pack. MIP explicitly names this exact kit as direct drop-in with no vehicle modification. Retain its original pin-drive universal axles and compatible remaining gearbox gears and housing.
  • The pack includes one 48T 32P differential gear, male/female hardened outdrives, 14 differential balls, six thrust balls, two diff rings, spring/screw/T-nut, two 5x8x2.5 bearings, two 10x15x4 flanged bearings and lube. Rebuild kit 16215 and outdrives 16212 are service parts, not extra complete-kit purchases.
  • Use the supplied flanged bearings in the transmission halves. Grease the ball/ring faces with clear silicone diff grease and the thrust washer/balls with the specified thrust grease. Align the cross hole before inserting the T-nut assembly.
  • The assembly sheet says to work the differential while tightening, then back the screw out a quarter turn from bottomed-out and work it again. Hold both outdrive slots while checking gear slip and tighten as instructed if the gear slips. Do not use an arbitrary fully loose setting.
  • A little RTV silicone at the gearcase keyway holes is an optional dirt seal. This differential does not establish a complete brushless electronics, battery or gearing specification. The maker’s broader original Frog/Brat applicability requires additional gears, shafts and a 16T pinion and is not a direct-fit extension.
