Gen7 V2 portal axle kit option

Redcat Racing Everest Gen7 Sport · RER09585

This replaces the Gen7's straight axles with portal axles, moving part of the reduction out to the wheel hubs and increasing axle clearance. The kit also changes the servo mounting and transmission gearing, so it is a coordinated drivetrain conversion rather than an axle-only swap.

RER13366Gen7 V2 portal axle conversion kit1

Redcat lists RER13366 for Gen7 Sport and Pro. This is a kit reference; link, driveshaft, steering and fastener installation details are not a complete guide.

Installation notes

  • The kit includes front and rear Gen8 Scout II V2 portal axles, a molded Gen7 chassis-servo plate and a slipper/gearing conversion.
  • Redcat explicitly names Gen7 Sport and Pro. This does not establish fitment for every Gen8, other axle revision or unrelated crawler.
  • Install the supplied gearing change with the portals. Redcat estimates that leaving the original gearing would reduce top speed by about 50%; that statement is approximate.
  • The slipper system has an optional lockout. Treat lockout and slipping configurations separately.
  • Use the installation instructions supplied with RER13366. This reference identifies the manufacturer-listed kit; link, driveshaft, steering and fastener details must be checked before assembly.
