Background
The LRX Rally is a shaft-driven four-wheel-drive rally chassis kit. The manufacturer lists steel CVD driveshafts, metal gear differentials, aluminum shock towers, rally shocks and a chassis cover. Its specified wheelbase adjusts between 257 and 260 mm, and electronics and battery are required separately. Full ball bearings, adjustable turnbuckles and an aluminum motor mount support the assembled chassis. The instruction manual identifies the radio, servo, ESC, motor and battery as separate completion items. Louise RC (opens in a new tab)

Build the LRX suspension consistently before spending on lighter rods or metal arms. Keep the stock steel tie rods and lower arms while they remain straight and move freely. Match left and right link lengths to the manual, then check arm movement again after tightening the mounts. Shim excessive fore-and-aft play without removing the clearance needed for free movement. How to read these figures
- Stock is as the vehicle ships.
- Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
- Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit.
- Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.
Upgrades and setup
Build the LRX suspension consistently before spending on lighter rods or metal arms. Keep the stock steel tie rods and lower arms while they remain straight and move freely. Match left and right link lengths to the manual, then check arm movement again after tightening the mounts. Shim excessive fore-and-aft play without removing the clearance needed for free movement.[1] LRX kit build, later assembly and corrections (opens in a new tab)
Keep the supplied shocks as your starting point. Fill and bleed them consistently, matching exposed shaft length and rebound across each axle. Inspect seal lubrication during assembly: the builder corrected an initial dry-seal observation after finding a small amount of factory lubricant. Extra seal grease and a thin internal shim were suggested during assembly; installation and longer seal life were not established. Change one shock setting at a time so you can identify its effect.[1] LRX kit build, later assembly and corrections (opens in a new tab)

Spend time on differential and shaft shimming before adding power. Prioritize smooth rotation over removing every trace of backlash, then check the mesh again with the plastic housing screws secured. Correct binding before running. A stock differential assembled without a gasket had not leaked at that stage; a gasket or heavy-duty unit is a conditional project rather than a demonstrated repair. Confirm the exact parts and assembly requirements before ordering.[2] LRX kit build, differential assembly (opens in a new tab)[1] LRX kit build, later assembly and corrections (opens in a new tab)
