Metal front and rear differential cases

Arrma Outcast 8S BLX · ARA5810

This replaces the plastic axle differential cases with the OEM aluminum and steel case assemblies while retaining their working gears. It adds a stronger housing option but costs more and requires two differential rebuilds.

Installation notes

  • Use this package only for axle units still fitted with the composite ARA310915 case. Inspect a used or previously upgraded vehicle first; buying another metal case is not a conversion.
  • Quantity two means two sold ARA310975 kits, one per axle differential. Together they supply two aluminum case bodies, two steel face plates, four gaskets and eight M3.5x16 flat-head screws.
  • Retain the sound 39T ARA310911 ring gears and matching 12T ARA310912 input gears, ARA310914 internal gears, ARA310916 cross-shaft inserts/supports, ARA310913 outdrives, bearings and seals. This is a case rebuild rather than a gear-ratio or LSD conversion.
  • Use the supplied case gaskets and M3.5x16 screws in the specified metal-case locations. The old plastic-case grub screw is not a substitute for the metal case face-plate fastening arrangement.
  • The original center differential already uses the separate ARA310919 aluminum body and ARA310974 metal cap arrangement. Do not count this axle kit as a new center-differential conversion.
  • The original Outcast 8S BLX manual specifies 100,000cSt for axle differential service. Do not copy a center-diff or different-model oil rating into this rebuild.
  • Clean, inspect and refill the axle units during the rebuild; follow the exact edition service instructions for oil fill and gear orientation. Check shimming and free rotation after tightening the case.
  • The differential case change retains the installed motor, ESC, radio, battery limits, motor pinion, center gearbox and wheels. No new voltage rating or measured service-life improvement is established.
