This replaces a compatible 29mm open axle differential's composite housing with an aluminum-and-steel housing. It is a rebuild option when you want to retain good gears, outputs and bearings, with the housing chosen for the actual differential fitted.

Installation notes

  • Use this kit for a confirmed composite 29mm open front or rear differential. An already metal-cased unit has no housing change to make.
  • One package supplies an aluminum body, steel face plate, two gaskets and eight M3x8 flat-head screws. It does not include gears, outputs, bearings or oil.
  • Retain the compatible 29mm internals, refill and set the gear clearance. Check free rotation before fitting the unit back into the vehicle.
  • The older ARA220050 kit uses a different component family. Do not choose either housing from the vehicle family name alone.
  • This route does not cover a limited-slip differential, removing its plates or preserving its action in a different housing. Keep center LSD work outside this open-axle rebuild.
