Equal 100mm tires with matched GP5 gearing

Arrma Felony 6S BLX · ARA7617V2

This lets the Felony use the same 100mm tire diameter front and rear by matching its rear gearbox ratio to the front. It opens up equal-size wheel sets and changes the original staggered appearance and handling balance.

Community-reported equal-diameter tire setup, supported by the factory GP5 gear pairing. Retain the specified front gearing and check your exact Felony edition.

Installation notes

  • Use the exact matched rear GP5 42T/15T pair. A ring gear and input gear from different GP families are not an approved combination.
  • Retain the factory front GP5 42T ring/15T input pair and 100mm front tires. Replace the original rear GP6 pair with GP5 42T/15T and one pair of 100mm rear tires.
  • The complete-differential route uses one ARA311023 assembly, one ARA311016 input gear and one sold tire pair. The assembled differential contains 10,000cSt oil and its differential bearings.
  • The rebuild alternative uses one ARA311017 ring gear and one ARA311016 input gear. Retain the sound AR310433 case, AR310436 internal gears, AR310439 outdrives, bearing and shim arrangement; renew the gasket and refill oil during service.
  • One ARA550062 sold pack supplies two pre-glued wheels and tires with 17mm hexes. Stock matching wheel hexes, wheel nuts, hubs, driveshafts and front wheels remain in use.
  • Retain the existing rear input-gear bearings and housing hardware if sound; inspect gear mesh, shimming, differential freedom and wheel/body clearance after assembly.
  • Motor, ESC, receiver, battery limits, motor pinion and center differential remain at the existing specification. This recipe does not validate a spool or a higher-voltage power system.
  • The factory tire rule specifies these GP5/GP6 pairs. Nominal tire-diameter arithmetic alone is not a reason to mix a GP5 ring with a GP6 input gear.
  • Owner handling opinions are uncontrolled observations. No measured traction, steering, speed or wear improvement is claimed.
